In accordance with the JINR Order (clause 2) "On the Conduct of a Competition for Grants for Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR for 2022", the dates for the conference are November 30, December 1 and December 2. The conference will start at 10:00.

All presentations will be held according to the schedule that will be available on the website. Time for performance: 7 min. for a report + 3 min. to questions for AYSS grant applicants, 10 min. for a report + 2 min. questions for scholarship applicants. An applicant applying for an AYSS grant and one of the scholarships simultaneously have to prepare a 10 min presentation.
The conference will be held online. All information about connection details will be sent by e-mail and posted on the Laboratory's website.

All applications for the scholarships (with a list of publications for the last 5 years and an annotation in Russian [1-2 pages] reflecting the applicant’s personal contribution to this research) should be submitted to the FLNP Scientific Secretary (room 76, bldg.42) no later than November 25 (10:00). Please, specify the section to which the application is submitted (in the annotation). A recommendation letter from the Head of the group or sector should be provided as well. Five I.M.Frank scholarships are awarded annually in the following research directions:
- investigation of condensed matter properties by neutron scattering methods;
- neutron nuclear physics;
- scientific and methodological developments for neutron research;
- development of basic facilities.
Three F.L.Shapiro scholarships are awarded annually in the following research directions:
- UCN physics;
- polarized neutrons;
- neutron spectroscopy;
- methodological support of neutron physics experiments.
The scholarship is awarded for a period of 1 year. The age of the scholarship applicant should be under 35 years (as of December 31 of the current year). The amount of the scholarship and the number of scholarships for each section can be changed by a joint decision of the FLNP Directorate and the jury. The scholarship cannot be awarded to the same person two years in a row.

After the completion of repair work to eliminate the leakage of sodium coolant in the air cooled heat exchangers (АНЕ) of loop "В" of the 2nd cooling circuit of the IВR-2 reactor, which took place in 2018, the FLNP Directorate has taken а decision to schedule the replacement of two operating АНЕs with new ones for 2022 because of their long service life (more than 40 years) and а high risk of repetition of sodium leakage in the АНЕ tube bundle assembly. Under the agreement with the specialized organization, at the end of April 2022, new АНЕs will be delivered to JINR.
In October 2021, another localized sodium leakage was detected in the АНЕ tube bundle assembly of loop "В", which did not result in the violation of established threshold limits and conditions of the safe operation of the reactor. In accordance with the current operating regulations, the IВR-2 reactor was temporarily shut down. The administration of IВR-2 and FLNP took а decision to prepare а Plan of Activities for the replacement of two АНЕs. Below are the main points of this plan.

Please be informed that for technical reasons, the operation of the IBR-2 reactor and access to its experimental instruments have been suspended for at least one year. Unfortunately, this means the cancellation of the proposals submitted in the recent call. Future Calls for Proposals are postponed until further notice.
